On this page, you’ll find some information about recovery from porn addiction. You’ll learn a bit more about what porn addiction is for me and how I can help you if you’re struggling. At the bottom of the page there are links to articles that you might find useful.
You can find a glossary of porn addiction words here.
Who am I?
The best way to get started is to introduce who I am, the guy who runs the site. My name’s James D Ramsden, and I’m a porn addict. Well, technically I’m no longer an ‘addict’ – instead, I’m someone who – like you – is fighting the lifelong war of overcoming an addiction. It’s rough.
Don’t take that the wrong way. I’ve not struggled with porn in a long time, but that doesn’t mean the threat of relapse isn’t present. I’ve spent many years fighting the Porn Demon, and have relapsed more times than you can count – that is, if you don’t want to count into the 100s.
But it’s not the relapsing that’s important; it’s getting up and fighting again, choosing to go another round. It’s jumping back into the pit with a fucking dragon and never quitting until you slay the beast.
Like you, my battle is ongoing. I’m just a bit further down the road than you, and I have valuable advice I feel a duty to share. I’ve got experience fighting that dragon, or at least fighting my own dragon. I know it’s weaknesses, I know how it likes to attack, and I know that every single time I get up, the dragon gets weaker.
I know first-hand the dangers and problems that a pornography – and masturbation – addiction can bring into your life. Trust me, I’ve been there. I’ve suffered and struggled like you. That’s why I feel so passionate about helping people like you overcome this addiction.
I KNOW the pain and discomfort that a pornography addiction can cause. I know what it’s like to slip and spend several hours looking at progressively extreme porn, only to let it lead to a quick wank and a feeling of disgust shortly after. I know how that little slip then affects your life, how it leads to feelings of anxiety, low confidence, and internal shame.
From my many years of struggle, I’ve become able to recognise triggers and how to avoid them. I’ve learned what to do if I feel like I’m slipping, and what to do if I’ve already slipped. I’ve learned techniques that help make the process of fighting the dragon a whole lot easier.
And I’m here to say that you can overcome it. You can control your addiction. You can beat this dragon, once and for all. I’m proof of that.
Why listen to me?
I have no degree in porn addiction. I have no certifications or credits to prove I’m worthy of teaching you. But what I do have is an overwhelming sense of duty, and experience in fighting.
Like I said, I know exactly the struggle you’re going through. And I know how to come out on top. I’m simply a dude who’s a bit further down the line than you, who has advice to share that works.
You’re here because you want to change. Because you want to improve. And just like me, you’re determined to overcome this addiction for good and Become Triumphant (to become the victor of this war).
I’m on this site because I want you to change. I want you to improve. And just like you, I’m determined to see you succeed.
Whether you think I’m qualified or not, please trust me and trust that the information here works – because it does. I’m not going to ever give you a quick fix, because a quick fix doesn’t exist. It will take time and effort to change your life. We’re talking at least 90 days. But fortunately, with the help of this site, you’ll be able to do it quicker.
You can learn from the mistakes I made and use the solutions I found to speed up your recovery process.
Worst case, you follow the advice here and lose a bit of time. You gain some experience and learn a few new strategies that you can use to win your own war.
Best case, you overcome this addiction.
That upside is worth so much more than the potential downside.
I’m not going to tell you it will be easy, because it won’t be. It will be fucking hard.
I’m not here to bullshit you into feeling better. I don’t align with the philosophy of compassion when it comes to war. It’s a useful tool, that’s for sure. I’ve shared how meditation can be incredibly useful for winning battles.
That being said, I’ve found that grit and mettle are better for combat. You’re in a fight, whether you like it or not. The opponent will not stop hitting you because of compassion. You’ve gotta fight back. The inspiration and motivation that comes from treating you like a warrior are fuel to go another round.
And, I’m gonna be real. You’re almost definitely going to relapse on your journey of betterment. You’re going to slip and you’re going to struggle. That dragon will slash you down, beat you into submission, destroy your hope. And then you’ll get up and go again. That’s what I’m here to help with.
You’ll have many short streaks. You’ll have a few long streaks. You’ll binge until the disgust becomes overpowering, and you’ll feel inspired to take action.
That might not be what you want to hear, but it’s the truth.
Let that show you that we’re not here to mess around.
We’re here to improve. Failure is a stepping stone on the road to success. Your road will be shorter than mine, if you follow what I share. I’ve forged the path and found the shortcuts, now all you have to do is follow it. But this journey will still take time.
The difference is that I’ll be there with you every step of the way, cheering you on, guiding you.
You’ve taken the first step, and you’ll eventually emerge victorious. Let me tell you of the most important step a man can take – it’s always the next one.
Using the information on this site is not enough. It’s an incredible first step, don’t get me wrong. And I applaud you for it. But unless you actually use the information and strategies shared here, you won’t see any change.
What’s on the other side of this addiction is incredible. It’s breathtaking. You’ll get to see life for what it truly is, without the taint of porn blocking your view.
If you’re still reading, I don’t need to sell you. You’re here because you’re ready to take action and change, and I thank you for that. We need more people like you in the world. And so, let us begin. It’s time for you to slay that fucking beast.
