The One Technique I’ve Used To Successfully Stop Relapsing To Porn

Of all the techniques I’ve tried to try to stop relapse from happening, there is one that has worked for me 100% of the time. Today, you’re going to learn exactly what that technique is and how to use it for your own success. Today, you will learn how to stop relapsing to porn.

If you’re new here, welcome to the site! This is the first post for Triumph Of Modern Man, where we help men overcome an addiction to pornography.

So let’s not waste any time. What’s this technique and how does it work?

How To Stop Relapsing To Porn – An Easy Technique That Works

The general process of relapse goes something like this:

Trigger -> Urge -> PMO (Relapse)

After watching porn and relapsing, the Porn Demon has its claws in your brain. It has a hold on you and will not let go. It wants to drive you back to porn and for you to watch porn again. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually.

Well, I’ve found a way to cause that demon to let go.

And it’s incredibly easy. You might even enjoy it. Here’s how:

The next time you want to masturbate, do it without porn.

That’s it. I promise you that it worked for me. Simply don’t watch porn or think about porn or other sexual content the next time you masturbate.

Now hold on a minute, you might think. Skepticism is appreciated as it encourages further clarity. Why does this work?

Well, I’ll tell you how it works.

Disassocation = Triumph

For many, the association between porn and masturbation is so strong – stronger than diamond – after years of PMO. When a porn addict considers masturbating, porn will almost always come to mind, because the two are so deeply linked. This link is only made stronger due to the association created during puberty and our teenage years, when our brains were rapidly developing. More about that in another post.

Through disassociating porn and masturbation, you start to pry the claws of the Porn Demon from your brain.

And the way you disassociate is through masturbating without porn.

Most of the time, an addiction to porn is the problem – not masturbation. The negative traits that manifest in your life while regularly watching porn and masturbating are often caused by the porn, not the masturbation.

Further, masturbation alone is not as appealing as porn. Porn is appealing because it tricks our brains into satisfying a primal drive – reproduction. In return, our brains flood with dopamine, making us feel good, if only temporarily (before the disgust and shame kicks in).

Watching porn alone is not enough, as, without ejaculation, our brains have not achieved the goal of reproduction. Without spreading our seed, so to speak, with the sexual delusion that porn offers, we cannot experience the fruits of orgasm. Thus, a desire to watch porn creates a desire to masturbate.

As masturbation isn’t as appealing without porn, we feel the desire to masturbate less often. And slowly, the cycle is broken.

Optimal Usage and My Experience

I’ve found that the optimal time to use this technique is after a relapse, before beginning a new streak. Often for me, this is the day after a relapse. That being said, it can be successfully used at any time after a relapse – for example, the next time you have an urge for sexual release. You don’t have to wait for relapse before you do this.

Most of the time, we turn to porn and masturbation because we crave sexual release. When you’ve disassociated porn and masturbation in this way, the craving will lead to masturbation without porn – that is, without relapse. It’s important to note that masturbation alone, in the context of pornography addiction, is not a relapse.

Not only does this technique drastically reduce the amount of urges I get, it helps me to get past the initial week after relapse without any problems. And as all who have attempted a 30- or 90-day recovery challenge know, the first few days are almost always the hardest (pun intended).

Finally, I want to clarify that doing a 90 day reset in ‘Easy mode’ – that is, 90 days without porn but where you can masturbate to your heart’s content – is still a 90 day reset. Remember the battle we are fighting here, my fellow soldiers. It is a battle against porn, not masturbation.

It’s much easier to go the full 90 days without porn while allowing yourself to masturbate, when compared to doing 90 days in Hard mode. Regardless of the difficulty you choose, the desired outcome is the same – overcoming an addiction to pornography.

Time For Action

So why not give it a try?

The next time you feel an urge coming on, after a relapse, try masturbating without any porn.

Sure, it might be strange the first time you try. Sure, you might struggle to reach orgasm – but see it through to the end. Don’t be tempted to turn to porn to heighten your arousal. Know that it’s very much possible to orgasm without porn – millions of people do it every day.

But I promise you man, the rewards you’ll see afterwards are worth the temporary strangeness.

Let me ask you this. If the only thing trying this technique did for you was discourage porn-related urges for a week, would it be worth it? A week of temporary clarity, where you can almost experience what it’s like to overcome this addiction and Become Triumphant? I know what my answer is.

You got this bro. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. If you’ve got any questions or want anything clarified, feel free to leave a message.

Until next time, stay Triumphant.
