Drinking water and staying hydrated is integral to our health. This is particularly important during the summer when the temperature is highest. So, to help you out, here are three tips to help you stay hydrated.
Take A Water Bottle With You Everywhere
The most obvious tip is to take a bottle with you everywhere. Whenever you leave the house, take a water bottle. Moving around the house? Take your bottle with you. A quick trip to the shops? Take a backpack with your bottle.
Drink whenever you get the opportunity while out. Whenever you take your backpack off or have a short rest, take a drink of water.
By having a bottle with you wherever you are, you’re more likely to drink. This helps you to stay hydrated.
Upgrade Your Bottle or Double Up
The bigger your bottle, the more water it can hold. That means there is more water available, so you’ll have more to drink.
Upgrade your bottle from a 500ml to a 1l bottle. 1 litre should be a minimum for any outing. Each day we need to drink at least 2 litres of water – which is refilling a 1-litre bottle, twice. Not difficult at all, if you use these tips!
If you’re leaving the house for an extended period of time, take your upgraded bottle with you. And/or take a second bottle with you. There’s always the chance that your first will run out, so having a backup can come in handy.
Doubling up – getting another bottle – is a good alternative to upgrading. Both serve the same purpose, but the former is more efficient with space. Better yet, do both!
Always In Reach, Always In Sight
If a bottle of water is always within reach, you’re more likely to drink. Every time you see your bottle, such as if it’s on your work desk, you’re prompted to take a drink.
This is the most powerful tip and is also the easiest to follow. A slight pause in your workflow, dying in a video game, or the end of a YouTube video can all act as prompts to drink.
Even if you only take small sips every now and then, this tip will help you to increase your daily water intake.
