Productive Things To Do During Quarantine

Looking for productive things to do during quarantine? Look no further. Here are some great productive things you can do during quarantine. I’ve sorted each activity into relevant categories, to help you narrow down what you want to do.

Learning

  • Read a non-fiction book
  • Learn a new skill
  • Take an online course
  • Improve your writing skills
  • Learn about your industry
  • Listen to a podcast
  • Learn a new recipe and cook it

Employability

  • Improve and update your CV. Update information, improve your mentioned skills, even change the design to something more relevant and fresh.
  • Get in touch with old network contacts
  • Reach out to people and see if they could do with your help. Especially important during this time when everything is up in the air.
  • Build an online presence
  • Think about the career path you want to take

Clarity

  • Meditate (10-20 minutes daily. 1-hour sessions for serious clarity)
  • Think about what you want to do with your life
  • Get rid of things you no longer want or need
  • Unsubscribe from email lists and clear out your email inbox
  • Clean up your social media. Unfollow negative content, unfriend / unfollow irrelevant people, follow inspiring and motivational content.
  • Improve your home. Fix old things, do some DIY, and create a new layout where appropriate.
  • Clear out, organise, and clean your food cupboards and fridge

Self-Improvement

  • Improve your confidence and self-esteem
  • Improve your style
  • Try a comfort zone challenge, such as cold showers or sleeping on the floor for a night
  • Establish a new positive habit, such as:

Downtime

  • Watch a film
  • Listen to some music. Discover a new artist or try out a new genre.
  • Read a fiction book (I recommend The Stormlight Archives)
  • Catch up on a TV series (but don’t start a new one)
  • Watch your favourite YouTube content
  • Find a partner through virtual dating
  • Spend time in nature
  • Learn all the lyrics to your favourite rap song
  • Get creative. Draw, paint, build, create!
  • List out some things you want to achieve or complete once isolation is over
