How To Bounce Back From This Pandemic

These past few months have been a rough time for us all; in this post, I’ll be covering how to bounce back from this pandemic.

Right now, we’re (finally) getting to the end of this pandemic. We’re returning to normality. Soon enough, we will all be back in the real world. Doing our jobs, preparing for the future, and working on both ourselves and our careers.

Yet, while we’re still in this pandemic, we have a lot of time available. It’s very important to be working on our skills and ourselves right now. This will give us the best possible chance to start again fresh. We’ll be able to make progress towards our goals, careers, and everything we want to achieve in life.

How To Bounce Back From This Pandemic:
Tip 1 – Think About Your Future

You don’t have to go back to the exact same career, job, or industry that you worked in pre-pandemic. Now is the perfect opportunity to think about trying a different career. To try going in a different direction.

You could start a business or make plans for travelling. Look into remote work and shift into a more internet-focused career. Think about becoming a digital nomad to get the best of both worlds.

It makes the most sense to explore different career areas and different fields right now. This pandemic almost acts like a reset; the time available is useful for thinking about what you want to do.

Any previous work that you’d put into your career or job has been pretty much wiped out. For the most part, you’ll need to start again. You’ll need to work hard towards building up your career again. If you want to begin making progress in your career again, you’ll need to hustle.

It’s a good idea to try out different career options and job prospects in different industries. The more experience you have, in lots of different areas, the easier it will be to find an area that you like. Further, it will be easier to find an area that you know you’re both good in and has lots of potential for your future.

You may have just ‘graduated’ and finished your degree. Use this time to think about if you want to follow your degree into a career, or start something new.

The idea behind this point is to get you to use this time to think about whether you want your life to go back to ‘normal’. Would you prefer something completely different? Then, act accordingly!

How To Bounce Back From This Pandemic:
Tip 2 – Work On Your Skills

Whether you’ve thought about your future prospects and where you want to take your career or not, now is a great time to begin working on your skills.

If you choose to stay in the same field, it’s ideal to work on your existing skills. Get them to a high level of capability. By doing this, it gives you the best chance for promotion and career progression.

This will also show potential employers and your current boss that you’ve been working during this rough time. That says a lot about a person.

But, if you decide to take a completely different career path, use this time to figure out the relevant skills required and begin working on them. If you want to start a business, figure out the required skills for your niche and develop them. Work on these skills until you can begin to make money from them – then keep working!

How To Bounce Back From This Pandemic:
Tip 3 – Research Your Chosen Field

Using this idea of a potential restart, begin researching your chosen area and learning more about it. You can take your life and career in a new direction.

What are the different opportunities available? What are the skills required to make progress and succeed in that field?

Having plenty of applicable knowledge is useful for career progression. This knowledge will help you to be more successful. It will also prompt better interactions and networking opportunities in your field. Having knowledge will help make your career the best it can possibly be.

You can use this research and planning time to think about useful specifics for your career. What are some ideal habits, opportunities, and routines?

For example, if you’re a writer, waking up early and writing for a few hours before your formal job could help get your career going. Try to find Flow and get lots of content written.

The idea here is to find practical steps that are useful to your career, that exist outside of your formal work environment.

How To Bounce Back From This Pandemic:
Tip 4 – Do It Daily

Follow the previous two tips daily. Make time to develop your skills and do research, every day. Spend an hour a day on these activities to ensure that you’re learning and improving. This gives you something productive to do, which will help shift you back into a productive mindset.

It’s alright to skip a day or to take the weekend off, but by improving daily, you have more of an advantage. Other people – your competition – might be taking the weekend off. By growing daily, you stay ahead of the competition and increase your personal and professional value.

How you choose to spend the remaining 23 hours of your day is up to you.

How To Bounce Back From This Pandemic:
Tip 5 – Think Finances

I know this is a taboo subject but it’s very important to be thinking about money right now. You’ve likely been living off of 80% furloughed wages or some form of benefits. As we get closer to the point of normality, it’s important to think about your finances.

Are there systems you can put in place to ensure you have a safety net and savings left over? Are there systems you can put in place to help stop you from wasting money?

It’s possible we won’t use the ‘extra’ 20% wages wisely. We’ve adjusted to the slight decrease. Think about how you’re going to spend that extra money.

Think about your financial habits right now. Are you spending money for the sake of it? Because it’s something to do and brings entertainment into your life? Or, are you being consistent and financially wise? Consider questions such as ‘Is this going to bring me value?‘ and ‘Is this a worthwhile investment?

Are you using smart financial strategies such as waiting 24 hours before making a big purchase? Or are you buying impulsively because it’s something to do?

Use this reset as a way of getting your finances back in check. Set up a budget, start saving regularly (the ‘extra’ 20% income), start investing, and work on sources of passive income.

To do this, you first need to research, plan, and prepare – use the available time now to do just that. Have everything ready, so that you’re prepared to achieve the financial success you desire.

Wrapping Up

We can’t continue to be the person we were during quarantine. Unless, of course, that person was a better version of ourselves. In which case, good job!

Use this as a sign to begin getting your things back in order. Sort your life out, start developing positive habits, set goals and work towards them, and think about the future. You got this!
